Zusammenfassung Nach einer kurzen Beschreibung über die Anwendung der Taylor-Wirbelströmung bei der Filtration von nichtnewtonschen Flüssigkeiten werden polymere Modellflüssigkeiten charakterisiert, die als Partikel- und Netzwerklösungen in einer Wirbelströmungsapparatur eingesetzt wurden. Die Fließkurven der Polymerlösungen zeigen aufgrund der extrem hochmolekularen Polymerproben neben strukturviskosen Erscheinungen auch dilatantes Fließverhalten mit besonderer Wirkung auf die Taylor-Wirbelströmung.Die Versuchsflüssigkeiten offenbaren vier verschiedene Typen von Strömungsinstabilitäten: spiralförmige, schwingende und stationäre Instabilitäten sowie gedämpfte Turbulenz. Während die stark strukturviskosen Netzwerklösungen alle genannten Formen aufweisen, fehlt bei den Partikellösungen die spiralförmige Instabilität.Unter Zuhilfenahme des Hantelmolekülmodells zur Beschreibung viskoelastischer Strömungsphänomene gelingt es, durch Einführung einer kritischen Deborahzahl den Einsatzpunkt nichtnewtonscher Taylorströmungseffekte vorauszusagen. Die gefundene Beziehung steht in engem Zusammenhang mit dehnviskositätserhöhenden Polymerwirkungen in Porenströmungen und mit reibungsmindernden Polymereffekten in turbulenten Rohrströmungen.
Experimental investigations dealing with dilute polymer solutions are described after a short review of the application of Taylor-vortex flow in the filtration processes of non-Newtonian fluids. The test fluids represent both viscoelastic solutions with isolated macromolecules and network solutions with power law fluid behaviour.These solutions show four different types of flow instabilities: spiral-shaped, oscillatory, steady and turbulent phenomena. The Taylor-numbers which depend upon the polymer concentration are determined for the onset of these instability types. For isolated macromolecule solutions, the Deborah-number concept for dilute dumbbell solutions can be applied to describe the first appearance of irregular nonstationary Taylor vortices.The present data are compared to literature values. This fluid behaviour is related to extensional viscosity increases which are also observed in porous media flow and turbulent pipe flow of dilute macromolecular solutions.

从EAST 装置2016 年的放电实验中,选取了119 次等离子体破裂放电数据,分析诱发等离子体破裂的原因,发现约60%的破裂是由垂直不稳定性直接引起的,其破裂后将会产生更大的晕电流,从而产生更大的电磁应力损坏装置。对由垂直不稳定性引起的破裂(简称为VID)(72 次放电)进行了研究,建立了分别基于单变量(垂直位移)和两维变量(垂直位移、垂直位移增长率)的预测模型用于对VID 破裂的预测。离线测试表明,基于两维变量的预测模型可以在破裂发生前20ms 给出破裂预警信号,预测成功率达93%。  相似文献

Predicting the onset of non-spherical oscillations of bubbles in soft matter is a fundamental cavitation problem with implications to sonoprocessing, polymeric materials synthesis, and biomedical ultrasound applications. The shape stability of a bubble in a Kelvin-Voigt viscoelastic medium with nonlinear elasticity, the simplest constitutive model for soft solids, is analytically investigated and compared to experiments. Using perturbation methods, we develop a model reducing the equations of motion to two sets of evolution equations: a Rayleigh-Plesset-type equation for the mean (volume-equivalent) bubble radius and an equation for the non-spherical mode amplitudes. Parametric instability is predicted by examining the natural frequency and the Mathieu equation for the non-spherical modes, which are obtained from our model. Our theoretical results show good agreement with published experiments of the shape oscillations of a bubble in a gelatin gel. We further examine the impact of viscoelasticity on the time evolution of non-spherical mode amplitudes. In particular, we find that viscosity increases the damping rate, thus suppressing the shape instability, while shear modulus increases the natural frequency, which changes the unstable mode. We also explain the contributions of rotational and irrotational fields to the viscoelastic stresses in the surroundings and at the bubble surface, as these contributions affect the damping rate and the unstable mode. Our analysis on the role of viscoelasticity is potentially useful to measure viscoelastic properties of soft materials by experimentally observing the shape oscillations of a bubble.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The yield drop phenomenon observed in the Ti–15V-3Al–3Sn-3Cr (Ti–15–3) beta-titanium alloy and its anomalous behaviour in the boron and carbon added Ti–15–3 alloys have been studied. While the base and the carbon containing alloys exhibit yield drop, the boron containing alloy with smaller grain size than base alloy does not appear to show this phenomenon. Tensile tests were interrupted at different stress levels followed by analyses of slip lines and sub-structural characteristics using scanning and transmission electron microscopes to understand this anomalous yield point phenomenon. Infrared thermal imaging technique was used to map the strain localisation and the spatiotemporal evolution of deformation along the gauge length of the specimens during the tensile tests. Deformation in these alloys initiates only in a few grains. Pile-up of dislocations in these grains subsequently triggers the formation of dislocations in other grains and their rapid multiplications. The spreading of deformation by the generation of dislocations from pile up dislocations in one grain to neighbouring un-deformed grains and their rapid multiplication to new regions influence the yield drop phenomenon and its characteristics. It is shown in this study that microscopic instability in the grain level is a necessary, but not the sufficient condition for the manifestation of macroscopic instability during tensile deformation in polycrystalline materials. The presence of boride particles at grain boundaries restricts the slip transfer across the grains as well as the spreading of deformation to new regions, which causes the suppression of yield drop in the boron containing alloy.  相似文献

Structure formation in turbulence can be understood as an instability of “plasma” formed by fluctuations serving as effective particles. These “particles” are quantumlike in the sense that their wavelengths are non-negligible compared to the sizes of background coherent structures. The corresponding “kinetic equation” describes the Wigner matrix of the turbulent field, and the coherent structures serve as collective fields. This formalism is usually applied to manifestly quantumlike or scalar waves. Here, we show how to systematically extend it to more complex systems using compressible Navier–Stokes turbulence as an example. In this case, the fluctuation Hamiltonian is a five-dimensional matrix operator and diverse modulational modes are present. As an illustration, we calculate these modes for a sinusoidal shear flow and find two modulational instabilities. One of them is specific to supersonic flows, and the other one is a Kelvin–Helmholtz-type instability that is a generalization of the known zonostrophic instability. Our calculations are readily extendable to other types of turbulence, for example, magnetohydrodynamic turbulence in plasma.  相似文献

使用二维多群辐射扩散流体力学程序LARED-S,模拟研究靶丸支撑膜在惯性约束聚变氘氘(DD)气体靶内爆过程中的扰动演化过程及其对内爆性能的影响.二维模拟表明:靶丸支撑膜显著降低DD气体靶内爆的中子产额,二维模拟产额为一维结果的55.2%.内爆性能下降的主要物理机制是支撑膜使靶壳生成大幅度的尖钉深入DD气体区,使烧蚀层与DD气体之间物质界面处的电子热传导漏失功率显著增大,导致DD核反应速率显著降低,中子反应速率峰值时刻(bang-time时刻)提前.相比一维理想内爆的模拟结果,支撑膜引入的扰动显著降低bang-time时刻DD气体压强与内爆动能转化为DD气体内能的效率,壳层剩余动能相应大幅增加.  相似文献

The one-dimensional nonlinear dynamical wave interactions in a system of quasineutral two-fluid plasma in a constant magnetic field are investigated.The existence of the travelling wave solutions is discussed.The modulation stability of linear waves and the modulation instability of weakly nonlinear waves are presented.Both suggest that the Korteweg-de Vries(KdV) system is modulationally stable.Besides,the wave interactions including the periodic wave interaction and the solitary wave interaction are captured and presented.It is shown that these interacting waves alternately exchange their energy during propagation.The Fourier spectrum analysis is used to depict the energy transformation between the primary and harmonic waves.It is known that the wave interactions in magnetized plasma play an important role in various processes of heating and energy transportation in space and astrophysical plasma.However,few researchers have considered such magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) wave interactions in plasma.It is expected that this work can provide additional insight into understanding of behaviors of MHD wave interactions.  相似文献

Microwrinkles were formed by treating poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) surfaces with a mixture of concentrated sulfuric acid and nitric acid at 80 °C followed by a water rinsing step. The acid treatment oxidized the treated area, which also swelled owing to absorption of water during the rinsing step. This absorption of water induced a compressive stress on the PDMS surface that caused the formation of wrinkles. The appearance of wrinkles was controlled by the time interval between the end of the acid treatment and the beginning of the water rinsing step. Wrinkles were formed when the time interval was shorter than 5 s, as water was absorbed by the hygroscopic acid molecules within the treated surface. For longer time intervals of 300 s, this phenomenon was not observed. Based on these findings, a procedure for forming wrinkles in specific areas was developed by hydrating the chosen areas with wet filter paper cut into specific shapes after the acid treatment. The formation of wrinkles was confined to the area under the piece of paper. The orientation and alignment of the wrinkles at the boundaries were also characterized. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Delaminations in structures may significantly reduce the stiffness and strength of the structures and may affect their vibration characteristics. As structural components, beams have been used for various purposes, in many of which beams are often subjected to axial loads and static end moments. In the present study, an analytical solution is developed to study the coupled bending-torsion vibration of a homogeneous beam with a single delamination subjected to axial loads and static end moments. Euler–Bernoulli beam theory and the "free mode" assumption in delamination vibration are adopted. This is the first study of the influences of static end moments upon the effects of delaminations on natural frequencies, critical buckling loads and critical moments for lateral instability. The results show that the effects of delamination on reducing natural frequencies, critical buckling load and critical moment for lateral instability are aggravated by the presence of static end moment. In turn, the effects of static end moments on vibration and instability characteristics are affected by the presence of delamination. The analytical results of this study can serve as a benchmark for finite element method and other numerical solutions.  相似文献

Hydrodynamic flame instabilities are studied in a Hele-Shaw burner. By studying the development of perturbations, starting from a 2D Bunsen flame at the top of the burner, growth rates are measured for propane and methane–air mixtures, and compared to theoretical predictions. It is found that the dispersion relation in a Hele-Shaw cell has the same dependence with wavenumber σ=k?k2 as the one predicted in tubes. Markstein numbers relative to fresh gases are obtained for propane and methane flames and compared to the literature.  相似文献
